- - Shade, Chapter 11, Page 359
Shade is a rare female Grey who is allowed to venture to Earth. She works as an anesthetist during abduction procedures and does not understand Hue’s fascination with humans.
Tone is her assistant.
History[]
It is unknown how long she's had her job, nor when she came to be. However, it's obvious she has been around for quite a while and has been around at least throughout all of Hue's life.
Relationships[]
Tone
Tone works under her and follows her orders. As mentioned, he has the role of Shade's main assistant during medical procedures. Although it seems he doesn't necessary only help her with medical procedures, as he also helps Shade keep Hue in line.
Hue
Along with being an anesthetist, she is also in charge of looking-over Hue. Although it's shown she does care for him, he also confuses her, frustrates her, exhausts her, and causes her great envy. It has been revealed that she's become quite jealous of Hue's relationship with Rose[1]. In fact, it was Shade who consistently erased Hue's and Rose's memories of each other throughout the years[2].
Rose
Shade was, and currently still is, Rose's abductor for all her abductions throughout her life.
Having remembered Shade from her past abductions, Rose is seen to be understandably scared of Shade in her natural form. However, once Shade is wearing her circuit Rose tends to relax slightly, but still has a distrustful attitude towards her.
It appears that throughout the years she's abducted Rose, Shade grew possessive feelings towards her[3]. She has intense jealousy of Rose and Hue's relationship, and has been erasing their memories of each other[4].
Pigment
Pigment was Shade's original assistant, who was traded to a government lab for a photograph of Phillis[5][6]. Tone is Pigment's replacement.
Roger
She had been Roger's abductor in the past.[7]
